Prayer: The Essential Transforming Power

What is prayer?

Prayer is communication with God. It’s that simple.

Prayer can be a lot of things, but prayer is first and foremost a conversation with your Creator.

When you’re having a conversation with someone, what do you talk about? You talk about the things that matter most to you.

For Christians, that means talking to God about:

  • We admit our wrongs and ask God to help us overcome sin.

  • We share our gratitude and thankfulness for the goodness of God and all he is doing.

  • Share hopes and dreams that you have for the future and our day to day decisions.

  • We pray for the people in your life who are in need of prayer (and also who don’t know it).

  • We ask God to show us how we can serve him!

  • There are many other things we can add to our prayers as well.

Prayer isn’t a ritual that depends on closing our eyes and putting on holy faces. Prayer is a heart-to-heart conversation with God.

As long as we’re talking to Him, we’re praying, even if it feels like our prayers are bouncing off the ceiling and never getting to heaven!

Jesus doesn't want rituals - he wants a relationship.

If you are feeling empty and lacking, spend time with God in prayer everyday and throughout the day. He will transform you life!

  • Philippians 4:6,7

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your request to God.”

  •  1 John 5:14

“This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us.”
